Suzie & Joe
|
Fate lends a helping hand when they save the young daughter of the Stage School Principal from a gang of drug-dealing thugs. When he hears of their dreams, the grateful Principal rewards Joe and Suzie with scholarships to the school on condition that they prove their ability in six months. They accept the offer, expecting to find the course easy. However, they soon find it very demanding and difficult. The other students do not accept them; their only friends are the misfits, who are belittled as the Nerds. To make things worse, the leader of the Cool Gang, the most popular group in school, reveals himself to be aligned with the thugs!
Joe and Suzie are very demoralized, but before they can quit school, the thugs come to teach them a lesson for interfering with their plans. Joe and Suzie are forced to make a run for it, and are directed to a mysterious alley by a stranger. There, not only are they hidden from the thugs, but they also have a chance meeting with a homeless old woman. She persuades them not to lose hope and give up easily, and advises them to hold on to their dreams and reach for the stars. With their change of heart, Joe and Suzie find that everything changes for the better from then on. They become pro-active and learn to lead others. They even get selected to perform in a big musical! Their nerdy friends are also affected by the change in attitude - they no longer, think, look and behave like losers any more. Because of this, they all achieve their ambitions of becoming stars.
They have all learned a valuable lesson - never to lose hope easily and give up, but to hold on to their dreams and reach for the stars! And when they do, the results are always positive and surprising!
